Over the past decade, renewable power plants have scaled from kilowatt-scale demonstrations into multi-megawatt and gigawatt-scale infrastructure.

Typical Megawatt Ratings in Modern Clean Tech

  1. Offshore Wind Turbines: Modern offshore turbines (such as 15 MW models) generate enough electricity to power thousands of homes from a single installation.
  2. Utility Solar Farms: Standard utility arrays range between 50 MW and 500 MW in capacity, spanning hundreds of acres.
  3. Grid-Scale Battery Storage: Lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) BESS installations are routinely rated at 100 MW / 400 MWh to provide peak shaving and grid frequency response.
